configuring HP9100 CDWriter to burn CD;s



Hi all,
I have fixed a HP 9100 CDWRITER on to a Debian sarge with 2.6.7 kernel.

i have installed cdrecord via apt-get.
i am not able to write cds with it..
How do I configure it..
When i do cdrecord -scanbus i get the following error:-

i am able to modproble ide-scsi ,sg, ide-cd..
what am i missing and how do i get to burn cds.
