Nothing prevents you from getting a firewire 800 card and puttting it in your old Pentium 60:-)

ISA cards are hard to come by these days - everything seems to be PCI or
AGP... Would your (hypothetical?) old Pentium 60 have any PCI slots?

Most Pentiums and some 486s have PCI. Some Pentiums also have USB:-)
