A few servers also won't accept mail if you don't have reverse dns set up. I ran into that problem and had to ask my ISP to set up reverse lookup for me.
Using your ISPs relay also works well, and has other benefits too. Such as taking your mail more quickly than the remote site(s), especially if you send mail to lots of people.
