I can mount real disk drives in USB enclosures on Woody. I don't recall
that I did more than install hotplug.
I use standard Woody kernels.
When I plug the drive in, I mount it as root as I'm too lazy to set it
up so I don't need to be root. Then I umount it before extracting it.
