see the line above your comment and add supermicro to 
the list of mb i consider tier-1 ( leading edge,
best reliability, best performance, etc, etc
and no whacky random failures )

sounds like you have a bad mb if itty-bitty memtest says 
that the kingston has memory problems ...
and that's assuming the FSB and cpu selections on
the mb jumpers is set properly, including cas timings

bill has a good point that the el-cheapo generic power supply
is not able to provide the bust current that is needed
by the system when addressing memory

use a better power supply .. instead of the one that comes
with the pc case
	- zippy(emacs), sparkle, etc ..
	- most of them add their sticky label on top of those
	OEM power supply manufacturers
		- you know its just a sticky label when you look
		inside with the cover off and its identical
