I evaluated wiki software a couple of months ago and I settled on
MoinMoin too. Reasons being it is written in python, which means it
runs on Windows as well[1], it serves pages fast (well.. Fast enough
for our needs - which are quite low), it handle multiple wikis easily,
and it can be configured to run its own standalone http server (which
basically means Windows installation is easier, since I didn't want to
mess up with ISS or Apache on a win box[2]).

All in all, considering feature set/look of pages/ease of
setup-use/speed/load level, MoinMoin was the winner. But I am much
more familiar with Python than with Perl or PHP, so I am biased.

Footnotes:
[1] My work is a Windows-only shop, but I do propaganda^H^H try to
find the best tool for the job - so in order to eventually migrate
and sneak in some *nix boxes, the wiki had to run on both OSes.

[2] btw, I also played with TinyWeb but I don't remember wether I got
MoinMoin running with it. Good stuff, though.
