One thing for which I'm still searching for though, is some equivalent
to Microsoft Access. OpenOffice works beautifully, taking care of
everything else Office used to do -- and in most parts succeeding quite
well -- but I haven't found a database-solution I've liked / known how
to use.
MS Access is as much a database as I am a refrigerator. :) If you really
need a database, mySQL is a great free alternative. If you don't
know/aren't willing to learn SQL, then you don't REALLY need a database
any more than I NEED a 97-ton dump truck to return a rented movie. :)
