Did you actually try snapshots with either lvm1 or lvm2? With lvm2 it
won't work because current devicemapper code (both 2.6 and 2.4 patches)
dont support them, and for lvm1 I could not mount snapshots of
journalled filesystems because of VFS Locking bugs.

There is patch for this in upstream of lvm1, but only up to kernel
2.4.22. :(
