It ain't java, it's Macromedia Flash, maybe in combination with some
javascript. Some pages are worse than others, the above url is
particularly bad. I've tried adding the worst offenders to my hosts
file, but there's always more, and it's no fun killing the browser or
running into the offending pages.  Frankly, I got so fed up with it that
I was about to remove Flash completely. I found
http://flashblock.mozdev.org/installation.html.  This works fine for
most of the offending pages. Enable software installation in preferences
then click the link to install. Enjoy!
