Re: Nvidia GeForce4 MX Monitor.

Hello,
Nvidia doesn't make monitors. The monitor is the thing that contains the CRT and looks a bit like a TV. Nvidia chips should work even with the default open source driver, but you should go to Nvidia's site and download the latest driver provided by Nvidia. Install that. As far as your monitor is concerned, just look at it's manual and supply the correct refresh rates. Before you do all this, setup your system to boot in run level 3 (I guess /etc/inittab), so that X windows is never started.

Hi All,

I am using the above monitor and created the XF86 config file using
the xf86config tool. But it is still not able to start the X windows. The
o/p dispplays the different chipsets available in Nvidia. I am using
2.2.20-idepci stable kernel. Just wanted to know what I am doing wrong and
whether this monitor is still supported in this version of kernel / do i
need to upgrade the kernel / Does nvidia still supports this monitor.

Any help will be greately appreciated .
