    *sigh* Fine, be that way.

Notice the lines are the same; high-ascii.

Why I don't use Lucidia: The x in exim-users is far too thin. The D in Debian is smaller than the b in the same word. In fact capital letters, in general, are smaller than in Courier and far less distict. Certainly uglier in my opinion. This is especially seen in the Cc of Lucidia versus Courier.

BTW, the screen shots were taken on a Win2k box w/all latest pateches freshly installed about a month ago. I've not added any special fonts or what not so this is all stock. And I was wrong. On my laptop I have Courier New which is not what PuTTY ships with. I prever 12-point bold myself but you might not like it as it adds some spaces between the lines which are still lines. I'd forgotten about that. The main machine's font hadn't changed, however. In fact I never had changed the default. PuTTY ships with 10-point courier. I just went 13 as that is what I had it set for on my one connection. On 1600x1200, 10 pt. is a bit too small.

So I dunno what you're seeing but rest assured that PuTTY does ship with a font configured that does show upper ASCII just fine and looks far cleaner to these eyes than the muddled half-height capital, over-size small characters of Lucida. :P
