Copy/paste works differently in Linux than in Microsoft OSes.
Generally, you don't have to <CTRL_C> to copy. As soon as you highlight
the text, it is available for pasting. The downside of this is that as
soon as you highlight some OTHER text, you've lost the first, so using
copy/paste to replace text can be a bit clumsy.
To copy: highlight the text
To paste: click middle button or scrollwheel on mouse (or both buttons
together if you're using a 2-button mouse).
Oh, and it's the "console" for Ctrl-Alt-F1, "virtual terminal" for F2
though F6 and, generically, "X terminal" for a terminal opened in X.
"command prompt" is OK, but if you say DOS you're going to have
to wash your mouth out with soap and water :)
And, just in case you ever need to know: it's "X", *not* "X Windows" :)
