"Eventueel" is what was meant in this case.

Nah, that is a thing from the past. Actually our relations with the
Germans are quite good. And yes you are right German is different enough
to be a potential problem, but he only suggested that the chances of
finding some people that could understand Dutch would be better on the
German list. I think he is right, but I also think that my fellow
countryman just did not realize that it would be better to ask his
question in English. That shouldn't be too much of a problem as everyone
in our country old enough to use a computer has had at least a couple of
years of English in school. Well, it could be a problem if he is older
than say 60 or 70. But judging from his choice of words that seems to be
unlikely.
