For XFree86 4.1 you can use the packages at:

http://ftp.fifi.org/debian-local/stable/unofficial/

If you want drivers for XFree86 4.2 or 4.3 you can build your own from
the debian sources at the site above + your downloaded driver from the
gatos site.

The packaging is very easy, need very little tweaking. 

The main advantadge of that package is that it sets up "diversions", and
the gatos drivers are not overwritten by the XFree86 drivers on upgrade.
