Debian testing, Mozilla Firebird and Java

I'm currently running Debian Testing, Mozilla Firebird 0.7 (from Mozilla.org),
and Java 1.4.2_02 (from sun.com), and I'm having problems with the
combination.

Even though I followed the instructions at sun.com and mozilla.org (putting a
link from /opt/java2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so to my
mozilla-plugin directory), I can't get the java to work inside Mozilla.

This used to work (java 1.4.2 and Mozilla 1.4) earlier this summer, but it
haven't worked the last couple of months (it looks like after gcc got updated
from 3.2.x to 3.3.x in testing). Wonder if anyone else have seen this
problems.
