Excellent, thanks. I'll have a look at that if and when I start logging
in anywhere remotely. As it is I have used the hatchet rather than the
scalpel. It wasn't so much the use of ssh-agent that bothered me anyway
but rather the reason behind it - I had never really looked in /tmp
before and panicked when I found something odd (to me) there. And at
the time (it was late, honest) I couldn't get my head around the phrase
'remote machine'. I couldn't decide whether that ssh-agent showed that
my computer was now somebody else's remote machine, or whether it was
for my own use. Now I know it isn't really a problem. But there's no
point keeping SSH if I won't use it so it's gone.
