X locking out + wacom.o

Hi all,

Got a problem. I have a wacom tablet which I managed to get going by following the "Linux wacom project howto", it appears to work OK, though havent tried GIMP yet.

My problem is with X.

If I ctrl-alt-f1, I get a console, if I ctrl-alt-f7 X restarts & I get KDM loggin ? It is then usually impossible for me to get to my ctrl-alt-f? screens. From then on X becomes unstable, locking out or resetting if I do any more ctrl-alt-f?. If I just use my user environment it appears AOK

In desperation & because my experimental system has had a lot of hacking I re-installed debian on it so it is a virgin copy. Nothing has sorted the problem, I have tried ...

1. removing the nvidia driver, setting XFree... back to "nv"
2. using the kernels wacom.o module
3. compiling & using the wacom project wacom.o
4. using the kerels wacom_drv.o
5. using a pre-compiled wacom_drv.o for specificly for debian woody
6. re-booting the system, especialy when it locks out

I load the modules with /etc/modules ...

usbcore
uhci
input
mousedev
wacom
evdev

usbkbd ... these were already here ...
keybdev

If I hash out wacom & re-boot everything is as stable as a rock, un hash wacom & the problems start.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Dave

I have checked /avr/log/ ..... The only usefull info is from Xfree86...log

I think the PEX font file is my ctrl-alt-f1 font file ? & may explain why I can't get back to ctrl-alt-f1 ... clutching at straws ?
