This should work for me then.
I was planning on something similar in structure.

What deb packages do you need for a basic config of LVM?

apt-cache search lvm
lvm-common - The Logical Volume Manager for Linux (common files)
lvm10 - The Logical Volume Manager for Linux
lvm2 - The Linux Logical Volume Manager
libdevmapper0.96 - The Linux Kernel Device Mapper userspace library

Thats for a start. I had it working nicely about a year ago. Dropped
it after a whild but it was working.

I'm curious as to why you dropped LVM.
It always helps to find out why someone left.
