Re: GNU/Linux server on Windows Network: Hostname / IP Mapping

Did you add the debian box to your networks DNS server?

I have a GNU/Linux server on a windows network with Samba running. I can get to that machine using it's IP address, but only using it's hostname if I add
an entry into the Windows client's hosts file.

Is there anyway to allow access to the machine, without having to explicitly
adding a hosts entry?

Cheers,

Ben
