How did you create the users? Did you use the 'adduser' command? How
did you set the initial password for the users?
What is your system run level? ('man runlevel').
When you login as other users, what is the error, if any, that you get?
Do you have a /etc/nologin file? If so, you will see this?
Did you modify /etc/pam.d/login or related files?
