That's about right.  I don't have any control over this network, though,
so it's RedHat or nothing.  (It's at the office.)  However, I do own a
PowerBook G4 of my own that I can use to set up a server for the Debian
install (if needed.)

My hard drive is plenty big (80 GB).  I was planning to keep the dual-boot
setup.  In fact, I'm thinking about installing Gentoo as well, since I've
heard good things about it.  But I'm going to try Debian first.

I'm sure this will mean learning about GRUB and/or LILO.
