Why slap a GUI on something that doesn't need nor would provide
the user any additional benefit over a console interface?  You even
get to save having to maintain a public mouse this way...

Remind the users they have a brain and that they should apply about as
much intelligence as is needed to comprehend your average VCR remote
to use the arrow keys instead.  If this is beyond them, are they
really bright enough to understand the information once they get it?
