Permissions problem on lp?

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I have devfsd installed, and its given the /dev/printers/0 owner and group
rights of root.lp

its given /dev/lp0 symlink the owner.group of root.root and mod lr_xr_xr_x

the configuration file for cupsd gives owner.group of lp.sys

I have created a cups printer parallel:/dev/lp0

Any jobs I am sending to this printer just seem to hang forever (including a
test page)

[I might also have this wrong because I copied over /etc/cups directory from a
backup after I screwed up my disk and had to resintall debian and the correct
packages from scratch (sarge distribution)]
