Re: misterious kernel message on booting

hello all,
I have noticed for a long time this kernel message on booting:

Starting hotplug subsystem: usb** cannot synthesize root hub events

So far it seems not causing anything harmful, but I would be interested in
what it means. I am using a stock 2.4.18bf24 kernel on my Sony Vaio fx802.

saluti, Mauro

On this machine no Windows system survives and LINUX POWER reigns UNLIMITED.

If you're not using USB devices, and don't plan to, you can probably just ignore the message.

I suspect that you have usbmgr installed, but don't have USB support properly configured in your kernel/modules. But that's just a guess.
