Apt pinning with stable IS HARMFUL. Differences between package
dependancies and versions will cause breakage with pinning in stable,
and judging by the bitching by the people who somehow missed this
point before, when it breaks, it breaks worse than unstable ever
does. This becomes obvious when you think about it: How is stable
supposed to be forward compatible with software versions that weren't
out when it was released?

Instead, look for backports on apt-get.org, or move to a newer distro
than stable for a challenge.
