server
Hi, I dont know if this e-mail is sent correctly but here it goes...
I have recently tried to install Debian GNU/Linux 2.1(which I purchased with a book named Linux Magnum ISBN: 0-13-019716-5) on a compaq proliant 1500
server. My problem is that the machine dont seem to recognize the CD as Bootable and displays a "non sys disk" type error msg.
However another CD(redhat 8.0) Is alrigth). There's no damage on the Debian CD.
So I wonder if it lies a difference in the boot signs, and in that case why/what.
Is there differences between this server(with a RAID disk system) and a ordinary
I386+ machine??? have you heard about this type of problem before.
Best regards
Leif Bohne(I prefer Debian as my server OS)
