I don't know what a bf netinstall CD is.
Today, I thought I had it. I thought it's the treminal so I tried pressing
<ALT>+<CTRL>+<Fn> but no luck. It really looks like the monitor is off,
because it seems to boot and everything.

have you tried installing from the bf netinstall cd?
