dselect error

I'm getting the following error in updating available packages...

E: Internal Error, Unable to parse a package record

update available list script returned error exit status 100.


I changed my sources from stable to testing and to unstable but the error
occurs no matter what, so I believe the package record at fault is on my
machine.

How does one go about fixing this?
