That would probably be because 10.0.0.0/8 is reserved for private
networks actually large enough to need that much space. I bet you're
fighting with your ISP over 10 whether or not it's obvious to you as a
customer. Use the correct subnet for the use. For the vast majority
of people, using /24s in 192.168.0.0/16 territory is still way more
IPs than all but fairly large organisations have use for.
