radeon 9000 again

Hi ladies and gents,

I 've build a new maschine with an ATI Radeon 9000 PRO graphic card.
XFree 4.2.1-6 is backported to sarge from sid-sources. In 4.2.1-6
the RV250 (Radeon 9000) is supported. The newest radeon
kernel-driver from dri.sourceforge is applied to my 2.4.20 kernel.

X is starting well. glxinfo shows:

name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.2
server glx extensions:
    GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context
client glx vendor string: SGI
client glx version string: 1.2
client glx extensions:
    GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context
GLX extensions:
    GLX_EXT_visual_info, GLX_EXT_visual_rating, GLX_EXT_import_context
OpenGL vendor string: VA Linux Systems, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Radeon 20010402 AGP 1x x86/MMX/3DNow!
OpenGL version string: 1.2 Mesa 3.4.2
...

But every OpenGl game like glxgears, tuxracer etc freezes the
machine completly! I have to reboot via ssh.

grep WW /var/log/XFree86.0.log

(WW) ATI: PCI/AGP Mach64 in slot 1:0:1 could not be detected!
(WW) RADEON: No matching Device section for instance (BusID PCI:1:0:1) found
(WW) System lacks support for changing MTRRs
(WW) RADEON(0): Cannot read colourmap from VGA. Will restore with default

Any hints?
