Error while initializing the sound driver

Hello to everyone.

On an IBM ThinkPad 21e I have some problems.

I am getting the following error message:

Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
can't set requested samplingrate (requested rate 44100, got rate 14800)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
