I have an OfficeJet V40xi and it prints and scans as good as any printer/scanner I've had. The only thing I can't do is send faxes from my pc, but I haven't ever had the need to do that. http://hpoj.sf.net/ The V40xi cost me $148. There is definitely some legwork required to get everything working correctly, but I find that to be true with most printers and/or scanners. That said, I'd recommend it for anyone looking to buy a home printer or scanner. g
