Depends on "it" being xserver-xfree86 rather than -svga or one of the others,
so you might want to modify this:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

apt-cdrom add
A lot of the time you can get the system to answer your questions
by searching it- apropos "whatever" and apt-cache search "whatever"
Best if you can constrain "whatever" to single words.
