You don't mention where you got your image from
I am not sure that the Debian  Sarge netinstall disks are ready to use for 
installs. As odd as that  sounds, afai,k the Sarge netinstall images from 
Debians site are for some sort of testing purposes only. There are woody 
images that do work, SIS900 is a part of 2.4.18 or later.
