Thanks, Nate. I need to check that out some more. I've been compiling
2.4.x happily without bin86. The last time I remember using it was to
compile on a 486.

I tried to get 2.2.19 so I could figure out what's going on, but it's
not in stable anymore. So I'm unpacking 2.2.22.

Is it your understanding that the kernel source requires bin86, or that
the machine you're on requires it?
