I have the same setup, fetchmail, procmail and exim.
My procmail ($HOME/.procmailrc)

PATH=$HOME/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ucb:/bin:/usr/local/bin:.
MAILDIR=$HOME/Maildir	# You'd better make sure it exists
DEFAULT=$MAILDIR
#LOGFILE=$MAILDIR/from
#LOCKFILE=$HOME/.lockmail

:0				# Anything from debian-kde
* ^Resent-Sender.*debian-kde-request@lists.debian.org
.debian-kde/		# will go to $MAILDIR/lists/debian-kde
<snipped other rules>

Just remember to make your initial maildir with maildirmake.
The other directories can then be made from your MUA when you
have connected to the imap server.
