I tend to agree. It's very healthy for the ego if you can get some kind of
Linux working before you try Debian. I started on Red Hat. I only lasted a
couple of weeks (maybe a month or two tops). When I reformatted my
harddrive to put debian on I simply left my home directory alone and went
from there.
