Known problem. Please use the Sid version of a package when you report
bugs.

Tap is the old (imo still better) EtherTap driver, it has a simple
interface-to-device-file mapping. Tun/tap is the new driver, which is
claimed to be more flexible but requires some extra work in programs to
set it up.

There is no such processor. K7 is 686 generation, if you meant Athlon.
