I should note that there is a bug in chrony 1.14-7: the scripts in
/etc/ppp/ip-{up|down}.d are not executable.

chmod a+x /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/chrony /etc/ppp/ip-down.d/chrony

as root will fix it.
