vsound does not work for me at all.

$ vsound -v -t -f vsound.out realplay

this thread is pretty old, but I just gave this a try and it worked beautifully. My only complaint is I didn't get the .wav file I asked for, but I'm listening to the .au file now & it sounds quite good.

One difference is that I _was_ recording from a stream
