btw, 'clear' is the command you want to put in your logout file...
.bash_logout	<-- bash
.ksh_logout	<-- ksh
.zsh_logout	<-- zsh
.logout 	<-- csh, tcsh

but read the shell in question's man page (or experimnt) to make sure...
