yeah, take a look at the fai package.  it looks pretty promising, and
i've been meaning to get around to setting it up myself.

i'm not sure if fai does this, but if it doesn't, you could hack something
with debconf between the machines... i'll have to do this eventually as
well but don't know enough other than the answers are probably in either
the fai or debconf-doc packages :)
