This seems like it would be largely impracticle at best, and a serious
hinderance to your project at worse.  A lot of people either give
invalid email addresses or refuse to enter an email address for
anything.

I would look into something like analog, or if you absolutely need to
know specific users, use ippl with ident requests on and write a perl
script to match up requests for that file with the connections logged
by ippl.
