Have you told fetchmail where the mail should go?  It should look
something like this:
poll mailserver user rweir there with password blah is rob here

Otherwise, fetchmail will try to deliver my mail to the user 'rweir' on
my local machine, which does not exist.

When you start filtering your mailing list mail with procmail you should
a) filter on the X-Mailing-List header, since it is guaranteed to be
correct (it's set by the list manager software on murphy) and b) use
MailDir so you don't have to worry about mail box corruption.
