if those are the correct settings (irq is 9 and io is 0x300)
and the module your loading is compadible with your card you
should see some messages on the console about the module loading
and a new ethernet interface being available(whether it is eth1 or
eth0 or eth2 depends on the number of existing ethernet interfaces)

some ISA cards require ISAPNP(aka PNPISA) to be loaded and configured
before a driver is loaded, but most NICs do not.
