Re: fonts in openoffice working, but right way?

So I got fonts to display in the UI of openoffice
again, after they suddenly disappeared due to an
update to testing last week, but I have a feeling I
didn't do it in quite the preferred method. Basically,
I installed fonts through the printer setup while
running spadmin as root in
/usr/lib/openoffice/program/. To add the fonts,
though, I had to point the setup to the truetype and
type1 directories in /usr/share/fonts/. None of the
other directories that seem to be preferred based on
comments on the list and in OO documentation, like
/etc/X11/fonts/ or /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/, would
work. Is there anything wrong with using
/usr/share/fonts/? How did people get the other
locations to work? Thanks.

That is the way I had to do it. I searched all the other Font directories too and those two were the only ones that would install for me. I have not found any other way....
