It's muscle memory at work.  I'm not sure if I can type 'ls -rt' without the
'-la' without conciously hitting each key.

I've heard that you do not have to run lilo.  I haven't verified the
behavior for grub yet.

By the way, site visitors are welcome and encouraged to edit the
instructions as they see fit.  Click the "Edit" link at the bottom, make
your changes, "Preview" them, then "Save" the results.  If someone seriously
trashes the page by mistake, I can always roll back an earlier version from
the RCS history.
