a couple of install questions
(newbie to debian)
I have downloaded the iso image burned it and installed the basics and
used my dsl to provide the rest.
When choosing "simple" from the task installer i'm not sure if im
given all the options. there is gnome, science mathe and "c" that's
about it. kde is not available as are fonts to run gnome. the pre-
rolled software configs seem to be missing "desktop environment"
and "office". could i possible have a bad iso or a development version?
Second. I managed to use dselect and get gnome running. the login
manager woud'nt let me login as root and i cant reboot or shutdown
only start with a user. i can change consoles though to shut down.
please recommend a desktop environment login thing(where you choose
between kde,gnome,etc)
thanks for any suggestions though i will check my image disk and try a
reinstall.
