I agree with most of them. Personally, I've weened myself off almost all
eye-candy and GUI-crutches. I too prefer a very slim desktop and
applications, it's the reason I've selected the applications I have.
However, there are quite a few users out there that don't see things this
way. Gnome and KDE desktop environments (and others like them) wouldn't
be around if there weren't users/developers that wanted them.
