Well, you've got the kde plugin installed you need to tell it to use it
with the -p command line option, or by editing your ~/.licq/licq.conf
file.

For the above referenced error, yes.

Sure it can. If you want to go this route, remove the conflicting kde
plugin.

As it most likely should as there is more to the plugin than the shared
library.
